
Gunfire shattered the night on Middelton Road this past Wednesday, as an altercation turned nearly fatal. Atlanta Police rushed to the scene at 3003 Middelton Rd NW, following reports of a shooting incident late in the evening.
Officers responding to the emergency call at approximately 11:29 p.m. discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, was swiftly attended to by Grady EMS and transported to a local hospital for urgent care, officials said.
The incident, according to a statement released by the Atlanta Police Department, appears to have escalated from a physical dispute to gunfire. The shooter, another male, managed to evade police, slipping away into the night before their arrival and is currently at large.
While specific details are still forthcoming, preliminary investigation hints at the shooting being the result of an argument gone dangerously wrong, the authorities further indicated.
