
Jared Weston Walter has been convicted on a total of 30 counts of Invasion of Personal Privacy, as per the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office. The 37-year-old had been charged with filming women in restroom facilities, resulting in an expeditious decision by a local jury last week. After less than half an hour of contemplation, the 12-person jury handed down their guilty verdict on May 30, in a trial from May 28-30 before Judge Andrew Lavin.
According to the district attorney's office, despite the swift guilty verdict of the jury, one count of Invasion of Personal Privacy had been dismissed, while two theft charges related to the same indictment will be addressed at a separate juncture. sources report that Deputy District Attorney Julian Samuels led the prosecution effectively and is credited with securing the conviction of Walter, who is awaiting sentencing behind bars at a county facility.
At Walter's forthcoming sentencing, the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office is geared to petition for multiple upward departures, aiming to intensify the possible penalties Walter faces. The specific details and timing for the sentencing will be announced by Judge Lavin at a date yet to be determined. As it stands, Walter remains in custody, as confirmed by the district attorney's office in a statement released on social media.
