The San Antonio LGBT Chamber of Commerce is once again ushering in an opportunity for local LGBT-owned and allied businesses to secure financial support through the Community Impact Grant Program. This initiative, as reported by FOX San Antonio, aims to bolster businesses that demonstrate inclusivity within the San Antonio region. Luis Vazquez, Executive Director of the San Antonio LGBT Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the community's substantial economic influence, citing an annual contribution of over "$1.7 trillion dollars" to the US economy.

The grant amounts can vary, ranging from "$5,000 to $25,000." To be eligible, businesses need to serve food and provide evidence that they are either LGBT-owned or recognized as a safe space for the LGBT community. FOX San Antonio highlighted that these funds are intended to support various business needs, including employee wages, infrastructure enhancements, and marketing endeavors. In a strategy aimed at extending their brand reach, past recipients have skillfully allocated portions of such grants for advertising purposes.

From a broader perspective, as outlined by KSAT, the San Antonio LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce's collaboration with the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce and the Grubhub Community Fund is an ongoing effort, marking its third year. Vazquez, reinforcing the partnership's objective, stated, “LGBTQ+ owned businesses contribute more than 1.7 trillion to the US economy, fostering job creation and innovative business solutions nationwide. Through the NGLCC Community Impact Grant Program, in collaboration with the Grubhub Community Fund, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a more inclusive and prosperous economic landscape for LGBTQ+ owned and allied businesses. Building upon the success of last year’s initiative, where seven LGBTQ+ and allied businesses in the region received grants for growth and development, we continue to provide equitable access and economic opportunities for LGBTQ+ and allied businesses.”

The eligibility criteria for the grant application are straightforward. Applicants do not have to be partnered with the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce or Grubhub, simplifying the process even more. To qualify, businesses should not have received more than one NGLCC Community Impact Grant in past years. Applications are open through June 4, and interested parties can find additional information and apply for a grant through the Chamber's specified application channel.
