A San Antonio man has been detained following an accusation of stabbing his neighbor during a pre-dawn confrontation in their duplex on the west side of the city. The incident, which the police responded to at approximately 3:42 a.m. earlier today, escalated after the victim and his wife, having earlier been threatened by the suspect, returned to a forcibly entered home in the 2500 block of West Commerce near South Zarzamora Street, as KENS 5 reported.
According to initial reports, the couple found their door kicked in after a sojourn to the store, likely by somebody associated with the ensuing violence. The neighbor, reportedly the one who had threatened the woman earlier in the night, emerged and a physical dispute began. In the ensuing altercation, "the suspect stabbed his neighbor, a man in his 30s," and the victim was promptly rushed to University Hospital with a stab wound to his body, as detailed by FOX San Antonio.
The identities of those involved have not been released as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the confrontation. The nature and extent of the injuries sustained by both the victim and the suspect, who was also taken to the hospital, have not been disclosed. San Antonio Police has yet to comment on the specifics of the suspect's injuries or the charges being considered in connection to the stabbing.
