
In a string of vehicular thefts around Bexar County that culminated in a dramatic chase and multiple arrests, San Antonio police apprehended three teenagers late Friday night. According to a report by KENS 5, the teens were involved in a collision with two other cars while attempting a getaway in a stolen vehicle, leading to their arrest after a brief on-foot pursuit.
The San Antonio Police Department reported initially receiving tips about a theft of a 2024 BMW on Thursday. Found abandoned later, the BMW turned out to be connected to the carjacking of additional vehicles, including a white Ford Explorer and a black Infiniti. The further details obtained by MySA point that the Ford Explorer was eventually found deserted at a different location.
Investigators concentrated their search on a cluster of apartment complexes on the 4900 block of Woodstone after receiving information that the stolen vehicles appeared in the area. It was here that officers located the stolen Ford Explorer, left without any sign of the perpetrators.
The situation escalated on Friday when police observed the stolen black Infiniti weaving through traffic lanes on the access road of I-10 W. In an attempting to pull over the erratic driver, a chase, resulting in the colliding with two other vehicles before the occupants fled on foot, the authorities stated. KENS 5 report indicated that the teenagers who had darted from the imbrued accident were quickly apprehended and now face multiple charges.
In conjunction with the arrest, San Antonio police recovered two firearms. All three recovered vehicles were confirmed as stolen, and the police emphasized that the investigation into the incidents is still ongoing.
