Early Monday, an incident at the Esperanza Apartments on the southwest side of San Antonio escalated from a stabbing to a shooting, according to authorities. The San Antonio Police Department responded after midnight to the apartment complex off Southwest Loop 410, following reports of a confrontation between two men who were residents of the complex, as reported by KENS 5.
The sequence of events began when an 18-year-old male was allegedly stabbed in the body by another man, reported to have had ongoing issues with the victim. Following the stabbing, the injured teen discharged a firearm at the suspect, who managed to flee the scene, the police indicated.
