In a new push for safety, District 1's own Councilmember Dr. Sukh Kaur has rolled out a community-centric initiative to brighten up the streets, literally; her plan is to add more street lights to the neighborhood, a move which studies say could reduce crime and make walking at night less risky. The councilmember believes residents know best where more light is needed, so she's asking everyone to chime in and point out those darker corners that could use a glow-up.

"By engaging residents in identifying priority areas for new street lights, we aim to leverage community-driven decisions that directly benefit our neighborhoods," Dr. Kaur stated.
