The Colma Police Department reported that at approximately 4:54 pm on June 2, officers responded to a report of shoplifting on the unit block of Colma Boulevard. The suspect, identified as Charmaine Carey, a 39-year-old San Francisco resident, was apprehended after a fleeting pursuit.
According to the statement by the police, Carey was spotted walking southbound on Junipero Serra Boulevard at the intersection with Colma Boulevard, where officers attempted to detain her. Ignoring their commands, she initiated a foot race but was swiftly detained. Upon her arrest, the store's manager identified Carey as the individual responsible for the theft of merchandise valued at approximately $207.55.
A search conducted in relation to Carey's arrest revealed several credit cards in her possession that did not bear her name. Subsequently, she was arrested for petty theft, resisting arrest, and misappropriation of found property. The police department's post detailed that she was issued a citation for these charges and was released with a promise to appear in court.
