
A standoff that disrupted a San José neighborhood Sunday morning has ended with the suspect in custody, according to San José Police Department officials. Initial reports from the San José Police Media stated that an adult male engaged in a violent outburst, breaking glass and throwing items from his apartment window on Warring Drive.

The suspect escalated the situation further, at one point, a firearm was discharged in the direction of the officers, said the police. Negotiators from the San José Police Department worked to end the incident peacefully as the area around Warring Drive and Calmor Avenue was closed to traffic and bystanders. Hoodline reported the suspect had barricaded himself in the apartment, necessitating the arrival of specialized personnel.
While the police have not disclosed what led to the man's actions, they have stated their commitment to resolving the situation without further threats to safety. "Special operations personnel and tactical negotiators are on scene attempting to negotiate a peaceful resolution", the police department remarked, emphasizing the protection of everyone involved, including the suspect, residents, and law enforcement.
