The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) has wrapped up a nearly two-year undercover initiative, dubbed Operation Stamp Out, which culminated in the arrest of 15 individuals on a range of drug-related charges. The operation also led to the confiscation of significant quantities of illegal drugs, such as fentanyl and cocaine, an influx of cash, and a cache of firearms.
According to details released by the SCSO, the investigative trail began in the summer of 2022 and recently resulted to executing two search warrants at residences associated with Anthony Alexander and Darrentot Trebbles. The searches unearthed illegal narcotics including over five kilograms of Dimethylpentylone—a synthetic stimulant—at Trebbles's home in Manatee County.
The extensive operation involved a coordinated warrant sweep on June 10, which saw participation from various law enforcement agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), the Sarasota Police Department (SPD), the North Port Police Department (NPPD), and the Office of Statewide Prosecution-Ft Myers. The coordinated effort was able to successfully net a total of 159.9 grams of Fentanyl, 5,569.8 grams of Cocaine, 7.5 grams of Marijuana, around $218,000 in cash, two firearms, along with gold jewelry and additional illegal substances.
Operation Stamp Out represents a significant crackdown on local drug trafficking, highlighting the continuous commitment by law enforcement to root deeply out drug-related crime in Sarasota County. The Sheriff’s office underlines the importance of inter-agency collaboration to dismantle networks that sustain illegal drug activities. The confiscated drugs, weapons, and cash underscore the scope of the operation’s impact on curtailing the flow of dangerous substances into the community.
