A harrowing tale of survival unfolded on the west side of San Antonio earlier today after a single vehicle rollover crash led to a victim's retreat into woodland, prompting an overnight search by local authorities. According to KENS 5, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded around 12:30 a.m. to an accident in the 14600 block of Potranco Road, near State Highway 211.
When deputies arrived at a scene, the vehicle in question was found overturned but deserted. It was believed the driver, possibly injured, had ventured into the nearby woods. The officers initiated a search operation on foot, with reinforcement from the aerial Eagle unit overhead, as per information provided by BCSO.
Joining the frantic search was a San Antonio Police K9 unit, which later proved crucial in locating the individual. As reported by KSAT, the victim was discovered approximately three hours later, around 3 a.m., having wandered into a "wounded area," a grim misstep indicating the potential severity of the victim's undiagnosed injuries at the time.
The victim was promptly transported to University Hospital, though their condition has remained undisclosed.
