
A Seattle man has been arrested after reportedly threatening people with a firearm in the city's Chinatown-International District, confirm local authorities. According to a statement from the Seattle Police Department, the alarming situation unfolded late on Saturday night when police officers responded to a call at about 11:47 p.m. The incident took place in the 400 block of 8th Avenue South.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers investigated claims that the male suspect had displayed a gun and made threats to shoot individuals present. The suspect, a 25-year-old man, was later located in his residence where he had made the threats before. Seattle Police took him into custody without further incident.
Subsequently, the police executed a search warrant at the man's home and discovered an arsenal comprising two handguns. They found a loaded semiautomatic pistol and a Polymer-80 pistol that had been modified to include a 50-round drum magazine. These firearms were seized as part of their investigation into the threats made.
The identity of the man, not released to the public at the time, was charged and booked into King County Jail facing Harassment and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, as reported by the SPD Blotter. Responsible for taking the lead in the case, detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit were responsible for investigating this case.
