A Seattle man faces serious charges after a string of alleged thefts, assaults, and subsequent weapons violations. Seattle Police last week arrested a 56-year-old male suspect who is now linked to a considerable arsenal of firearms and ammunition.
According to Seattle Police Blotter, the arrest took place after patrol officers responded to an assault and violent threat report on June 5, on the 400 block of Minor Avenue North. The victim, a 38-year-old male reported having been repeatedly victimized by the suspect over time, having been stolen from, assaulted, and threatened.
Upon their arrival and subsequent investigation, officers determined enough probable cause to arrest the suspect on the scene. He was booked into the King County Jail under charges of Investigation of Robbery 1st Degree and Assault 4th Degree.
The following day, the Robbery Unit executed a search warrant on the suspect’s residence, uncovering a stockpile of weapons, including several firearms, and ballistic body armor. The haul also included countless rounds of ammunition for pistols, rifles, and shotguns. During the raid, a Crisis Response Team was on hand to ensure the maintenance of safety and order, as the magnitude of the findings hinted at a far more severe criminal intent than initially suspected.
Moreover, detectives found and seized multiple identity documents and bank cards while serving the warrant, potentially broadening the case's scope. A charge for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 1st Degree has been recommended by detectives, suggesting that the suspect was already not legally allowed to have the guns in his possession, although his criminal past was not immediately detailed in the report.
As the investigation continues, Seattle robbery detectives may tack on additional charges pending further analysis of the evidence collected. In the meantime, the suspect remains in custody.
