In a pleasant development for small businesses in the Seattle area, the Accounting and Business Consulting (ABC) Program is marking its significant growth and success in assisting local entrepreneurs like the co-owners of Hyson Boba. Paul Nguyen, along with his sister June Nguyen and their friend Derrick Chi, have raised the bar for boba tea quality in Seattle by focusing on organic and homemade boba—an emphasis that underscores their Vietnamese-Taiwanese heritage and personal tastes developed from a young age, according to the Bottomline Seattle.

The ABC Program, which started in 2022, offers up to 10 hours of free counseling targeted at Seattle-based businesses and has expanded its team from four to 11 consultants for just two years providing services in multiple languages which range from bookkeeping and accounting guidance to marketing plan development, as it was shared by Robyn Duckett, the community development specialist at the Seattle Office of Economic Development, her statement highlighting the contribution of the program toward empowering small business owners by providing professional support, that would be traditionally outside their economical grasp, as per the Bottomline Seattle.

Hyson Boba, which began serving customers in early May, benefited from the program's diverse offering; Nguyen and his colleagues received guidance in formulating a solid marketing plan and crafting a comprehensive business plan. Nguyen expressed his gratitude toward the consultants for their pivotal role in aiding the establishment of the cafe, as stated by Bottomline Seattle, "There were a lot of things I didn't know as a new business, I learned a lot and [this program] helped me grow as a businessperson... Without it, I don't think this would happen." Reflecting the pure joy that comes from customer recognition of their authentic boba, Nguyen described the fulfilling experience they have when customers notice the difference in their product.
