Tragedy struck at the intersection of E. Sam Houston Pkwy N and Little York as a fatal crash claimed the lives of two young men. HCSO_VCD units responded to the accident, where preliminary reports indicated that the vehicles were possibly speeding—one running a red light—which led to a catastrophic collision. The Harris County Sheriff's Office dispatch posted that the vehicles involved were a 2018 Camaro and a 2021 Toyota Camry. The intense impact caused the Camaro to smash into a light pole and burst into flames, killing both male occupants.
In an update provided by HCSO_VCD on X, the deceased were identified as 19-year-old Braulio Tamez and 17-year-old Gilberto Guzman. Investigations suggest that Tamez, the driver, may have failed to stop at the red light, leading to the fatal encounter. Upon impact, the Toyota, carrying two uninjured females, managed to force the Camaro violently enough to quickly become engulfed, ultimately trapping the young men inside. The driver of the Camry stayed at the scene, was cooperative with the investigation and displayed no signs of intoxication.
