
The Texas Department of Public Safety has raised a statewide CLEAR Alert for Danielle Plummer, a 62-year-old woman from Culberson County who vanished last Friday, a worrying development that has triggered a wide-reaching search effort. According to KTSM, Plummer was last seen on May 31 around noon on the 800 block of Van Horn Drive in Van Horn, Texas.
Authorities are concerned for her welfare, indicating that she could possibly be endangered and the alert, which serves as a bridge for cases that fall between missing children and senior citizens, seeks to galvanize the community in the search for Plummer. As reported by Fox San Antonio, the Culberson County Sheriff’s Office is heading the search; anyone with information on Plummer's whereabouts, she's a Black female, 5'1", weighs 229 lbs, with brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants in addition to having facial hair, they are urged to make contact at (432) 283-2060 or call 911.
The establishment of the Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue (CLEAR) Alert program by Texas legislation in 2019 was a move to address the unique vulnerabilities that adults face when they go missing, these alerts are critical tools in the most dire scenarios where adults are feared kidnapped, abducted or in immediate harm. "The CLEAR alert assists law enforcement in locating and rescaping missing, kidnapped or abducted adults or adults who are in immediate danger of injury or death, as well as aid in locating any potential suspects," according to the protocol detailed by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
