
A suspect has been taken into custody in connection to a shooting that left one woman dead at an apartment complex on West Montgomery Road in Houston. The Houston Police Department reports that the incident took place around 7:05 a.m. on June 7. City of Houston News identified the arrested individual as 37-year-old Xzavor Williams, who now faces murder charges.
On arriving at the scene, HPD patrol officers found the victim, transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Officers detained a male suspect, later charged in connection with the shooting, without incident at the scene of the apartment complex. Houston homicide detectives named him as Williams.
According to a statement provided by HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Hughey and L. Lovelace, the HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex. They found a woman who had been shot. The detectives are currently involved in the ongoing investigation. At the time of reporting, the victim's identity had not been released, pending clearance by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The case has been filed with the 180th State District Court, where Williams will face the consequences of the charges held against him. The inquiry into the shooting is ongoing, and law enforcement is expected to release more details as they become verified and available to the public.
