An investigation into a fatal stabbing has recently progressed with the detainment of a suspect. The incident occurred on April 5, in Northwest Washington, D.C., where a 53-year-old man was found deceased from multiple stab wounds inside a residential property, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

The victim, identified as Fasil Teklemariam, was discovered by the Fourth District officers around 11:21 p.m. on the 1300 block of Peabody Street, Northwest. DC Fire and EMS declared Teklemariam dead at the scene, no indication of life was found. Teklemariam's death has been a pressing matter for the MPD Homicide Branch, and their pursuit of justice brought them to Audrey Miller, a 19-year-old with no fixed residence.

Miller was taken into MPD custody on June 21, 2024, upon completion of the extradition process from Hagerstown, MD, where the US Marshals Service had been maintaining her detainment. Pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, MPD’s Fugitive Unit carried out the transfer. Miller has now been officially charged with First Degree Murder while Armed-Felony Murder, representing a serious turn of events in this alarming case.
