A teenager was wounded in a shooting in Seattle's Columbia City neighborhood, sparking a police investigation. The incident happened on Tuesday evening, just before 8:30 p.m., as reported by the Seattle Police Department Blotter. Witnesses called 911 after shots were fired at the corner of South Snoqualmie Street and Martin Luther King Jr Way South.
Upon their arrival, Seattle Police Department found a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers at the scene provided immediate aid until the Seattle Fire Department took over, transporting the teen to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. It's reported that the victim's vehicle was struck by gunfire as he drove southbound on Martin Luther King Jr Way South before turning westbound onto South Snoqualmie Street. During this time, suspects in a gray Honda opened fire and later fled the area.
The attack not only harmed the teenage victim but also affected an innocent bystander's property. An additional vehicle, caught in the gunfire, sustained damage, though no other injuries were reported. Seattle Gun Violence Unit Detectives quickly responded to the shooting scene and started investigating the cause of the violence.
As of now, the authorities have not identified any suspects.
