Besides the summer Fourth of July season, three other main periods are highlighted when fireworks sales are permitted: between December 20 and midnight on January 1, around Cinco de Mayo for counties near the Texas-Mexico border upon county approval, and accommodating celebrations like Diwali and iconic Texas dates like San Jacinto Day, according to the TDI.
