A late night collision left three people injured after a motorcycle ran a red light and crashed into a car at a Cobb County intersection, authorities reported. The unfortunate event occurred in the late hours of Sunday when an unidentified man piloting a black 2024 Suzuki GSX-R1000, with 18-year-old Helena Mastranni of Canton as his passenger, failed to stop for the red signal at the junction of Chastain Road and Barrett Lakes Boulevard.
The motorcycle then made an ill-fated contact with a white 2017 Lexus ES350, which was making a left-hand turn under a green arrow. Behind the wheel of the Lexus was 22-year-old Sierra Lee, who was visiting from Louisiana. Both the motorcyclist and Mastranni were ejected from the bike due to the impact. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the pair suffered serious injuries and were rushed to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for treatment.
Lee, the individual in the car, was also harmed during the crash. Reports say that she complained of injuries and consequently was transported to the same hospital as the motorcyclist and his passenger. As of now, the condition of the three injured parties has not been stated. WSB-TV reported that the investigation into the collision is ongoing as the authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
