A pedestrian incident early Tuesday morning on U.S. Highway 183 in north Austin has led to significant traffic disruptions, with emergency services blocking all but one northbound lane. KXAN reports that the collision occurred near Pond Springs Road in the 13600 block of Hwy 183, prompting an emergency response from the Austin-Travis County EMS.

Following "extensive advanced procedures & regaining pulses," Austin-Travis County EMS transported an adult patient to St. David’s Round Rock, unfortunately, the patient lost pulses again during transport and CPR was resumed, as cited by CBS Austin. The authorities recommended that drivers should continue to avoid the area as traffic delays were expected to linger during the investigation and subsequent clearing of the scene.
The emergency services' response began around 6 a.m., with Austin-Travis County EMS first addressing the crash on social media. The lone available lane caused a bottleneck effect which snarled morning traffic, as commuters found themselves navigating the restricted highway stretch.
