In the pre-dawn darkness of Mesa, a house fire claimed the life of one individual. First reported by FOX 10 Phoenix, the blaze began at around 2:30 A.M. on June 27 near Power and Broadway Roads. Mesa police responded swiftly after receiving 911 calls reporting smoke and flames emanating from a home. Neighboring residents were promptly evacuated as a safety precaution.
Despite the rapid response of emergency services, once the fire was brought under control, firefighters discovered a person inside the house with severe injuries. Efforts to treat the victim were unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have yet to release the identity of the deceased. They are currently trying to definitively determine the cause of the fire that led to such a tragic outcome.
As reported by AZ Family, the areas surrounding the scene have been closed off as the Mesa fire and police departments are conducting their investigation. Officers and firefighters worked jointly to handle the situation, which included the initial evacuation and subsequent examination of the scene after the flames had been extinguished.
Updates will be provided as more information becomes available and is shared by officials.
