A somber air hangs over Atlanta's Zone 3, as police responded to a fatal shooting that occurred on June 23. The incident, reported near 56 Baker Dr. SW at approximately 3:33 p.m., left one adult female dead and an adult male wounded. According to the Atlanta Police Department's news release, officers discovered the victims shortly after arrival on the scene. The female victim, whose identity has yet to be disclosed pending notification of kin, was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
The male victim, however, was found to be alert and conscious and was rapidly transported to the hospital by ambulance.
