As the nation's capital wades into the heart of June, Washington D.C. braces for an eclectic mix of weather conditions. According to the National Weather Service, the area started the day under a canopy of few clouds with temperatures sitting comfortably at 66°F.
With humidity levels hovering around 59%, and a gentle breeze from the south at 6 mph, it's a mild setup for what will become a progressively warmer week. Forecasters predict today’s weather will see increasing clouds with a high reaching near 81 degrees. As the evening approaches, there's a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2 am, with temperatures dropping to a low around 61 - a reprieve, albeit short-lived, from the impending escalation of mercury.
Looking forward to the coming days, Tuesday is expected to bring mostly sunny skies and a high around 79, followed by a clear night with a low settling around 60. Wednesday maintains the pattern of sunshine, expected to climax at a warm 86 degrees, and a peaceful transition into a mostly clear night, as the thermometer dips to around 65.
The crescendo of the week's warmth arrives towards the weekend with Thursday's sunny forecast signaling a high near 93, and escalating to a "hot" Friday, where the high could soar to near 97. Nighttime offers little in terms of respite, with lows resting comfortably in the low 70s. The weekend will see a minor relaxation in temperature, ending with, Sunday's sunny outlook promising a high near 87, as reported by National Weather Service.
