The streets of Northwest have witnessed yet another tragedy, as the Metropolitan Police Department is currently piecing together the circumstances behind a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a young man late Wednesday night. According to the official report, the incident occurred on June 19 at about 11:28 p.m. on the 900 block of S Street, Northwest.
Arriving at the scene, police officers found a man lying on the sidewalk bearing a gunshot wound, rendered lifeless by the act of violence imposed upon him. He was pronounced dead at the location. The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Vaughn Dozier Jr., whose life prematurely concluded hails from Upper Marlboro, M.D.Doling out scant details at this moment, authorities are pressing for witnesses and any relevant information that could lead to apprehending those responsible for the shooting.
