A tragic three-vehicle accident on the Southwest Side of San Antonio resulted in the death of a 21-year-old motorcyclist on Friday. The accident, involving a San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) patrol car, occurred near the intersection of West Southcross Boulevard and Huron Street, as reported by both FOX San Antonio and KSAT.

Jesus Ervey Pacheco Ceniceros, the motorcyclist, was pronounced dead at the hospital overnight following the incident. According to SAPD, at around 5:30 p.m., an officer responded to a call for a vehicle on fire and was traveling eastbound on Southcross Boulevard. Ceniceros, traveling north on Huron Street, entered the intersection, as the traffic light turned yellow. The collision occurred, ejecting Ceniceros from his motorcycle, the patrol car consequently struck another vehicle, which was stopped at the intersection.

Both the SAPD officer and the driver of the third vehicle, which was involved after the initial crash, were transported to the hospital and are expected to recover from their injuries, as per the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office. The officer has been with SAPD for two years and, along with the driver of the third vehicle is reported to be in stable condition. The police department is currently conducting an investigation into the exact circumstances of the accident.

The SAPD patrol car was reportedly responding to an unrelated emergency when it collided with Ceniceros's 2015 Yamaha motorcycle, thus setting off a chain reaction that culminated in a three-vehicle tragedy. "The motorcyclist died from his injuries overnight," according to a statement obtained by FOX San Antonio.
