
A 31-year-old man was injured in Stoughton, Massachusetts, after being shot in the leg Wednesday night, as disclosed by local law enforcement. NBC Boston reported the shooting occurred around 10 p.m. on Stagecoach Road, where the victim was found with a gunshot wound to his left leg.
The authorities, having not released the name of the man, said he was promptly transported to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening and the details surrounding the exact circumstances of the shooting have not been released, while the Stoughton Police Department asks anyone with information to call 781-344-2424, police are currently investigating the matter but they have reason to believe there is no imminent danger to the community as a whole.
According to the Stoughton police's statement obtained by WHDH, the injured man is not a resident of Stoughton, and officers found him seated in front of 40 Stagecoach Road following a distress call to dispatchers.
WCVB added that the man received immediate medical attention at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, furthermore the police iterated there seems to be no present threat to the public arising from this incident and pledges to continue their investigation to bring clarity to the events that led to this violent episode.
