Travelers looking to jet off to sunnier skies or amusement parks will soon have their wishes granted, courtesy of Sacramento International Airport and Alaska Airlines. The two have partnered up to offer Sacramentans new non-stop seasonal routes beginning in January 2025. This lineup includes sought-after destinations such as Puerto Vallarta and San José del Cabo in Mexico, Tucson in Arizona, and the ever-popular Orlando, Florida.
Alaska Airlines is placing its bet on Sacramento’s appetite for travel, expanding its route map to include these locations when the chill of winter starts to bite. Flights to the coastal paradise of Puerto Vallarta will be available every Saturday from January 11 to April 19, as reported by FOX40. The adventure doesn't end there, with San José del Cabo receiving visitors from Sacramento five times a week from January 6 to April 21, although flights won't depart on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for reasons not immediately clear.
Tucson will play host to daily flights much to the delight of those yearning for a desert escape. These flights will take off every day from January 6 to April 21. Conversely, those craving a dose of theme parks or tropical climates can board a flight to Orlando four times a week. Travelers can embark on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays during the same period, ensuring ample opportunity to experience the thrills of Florida’s entertainment capital. Cindy Nichol, Director of Airports at Sacramento County Department of Airports, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Alaska Airlines, highlighting the broader travel choices for passengers, as stated in an announcement obtained by FOX40.
The logistical details of these flights paint a clearer picture for potential travelers. Departures to Puerto Vallarta are slated for 10 a.m. from Sacramento, whereas the return flight will touch down at 6:46 p.m. The schedule to San José del Cabo boasts a 10 a.m. departure time and a 5:25 p.m. return. Those heading to Tucson will leave at 3 p.m. and find themselves back in Sacramento by 2:20 p.m. And as for Orlando-bound voyagers, flights will depart the state capital at 8:30 a.m. and return at the stroke of 9 p.m., according to KCRA.
