Firefighters in Allentown faced a three-alarm fire yesterday in challenging conditions, as an intense heatwave swept through the area. The fire engulfed a multi-family home on the 1100 block of Hamilton Street. Crews were dispatched around 5:30 p.m. with the effort extending beyond three hours amid sweltering weather, as reported by Fox29.
Despite the heat and the intensity of the flames, no injuries had been reported at the time of the incident. On the scene were several ambulances, prepared for any potential casualties, according to the Lehigh Valley News. One resident, Juan Diego Bustamante Patino, expressed his relief at being able to retrieve his pet amidst the chaos, saying "I came home rushing from the gym just for my dog," and adding, "I didn't care about anything else."
The cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation by authorities, as per 6abc.
