The Annapolis police, alongside the Maryland State Police and Anne Arundel County Police, are engaged in a search operation for an inmate who managed to escape custody in the vicinity of the Annapolis Exchange, particularly within a wooded area, as reports have emerged on Thursday morning—officials have yet to disclose the circumstances surrounding the escape, nor the identity of the individual at large, according to WMAR-2 News.
Authorities involved have expanded their search perimeter, receiving additional aerial support from the Anne Arundel County AirUnit, the inmate was initially bound for the Detention Center, however, during the transport to the facility, there was an unforeseen lapse that allowed for the escape though specifics about how the prisoner escaped are still not provided to the public as of this report, as reported by WBALTV.
