A pedestrian in Anne Arundel County has suffered a fatal outcome following a hit-and-run incident, as reported by the local police department. In the early hours of July 21, at approximately 3:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Laurel Fort Meade Road and a nearby access road just outside Delta Bingo in Laurel, where they found 34-year-old Devin Jones critically injured, according to WBALTV.
Despite the swift action of emergency services, Jones was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital, the driver and associated vehicle remain unidentified, and the Anne Arundel County Police Department is actively seeking witnesses or those with information to step forward.
In a statement gathered from the scene, investigators surmised that the involved vehicle turned right from the eastbound Laurel Fort Meade Road, colliding with Jones and subsequently fleeing in an undisclosed direction, with no further sightings. Police theorize damage to the vehicle’s undercarriage and front bumper could be indicative of its involvement, as detailed by CBS Baltimore.
