As summer slides into its final chapter, community organizations are stepping up to ensure that local students have the resources they need for the upcoming academic year. In a recent announcement on their Facebook page, the Arlington Police Department has highlighted two events designed to provide students with vital school supplies.
The department's community engagement initiative, Amigos En Azul, is slated to hold a Back-to-School Bash on Friday, August 2, at Bob Cooke Park from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. According to the Arlington Police Department, the event not only promises an evening of fun but also the distribution of free backpacks filled with school supplies to attendees.
Following the bash, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County has arranged their charitable gathering for the following day. Set for Saturday, August 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Back-to-School Giveaway aims at outfitting students with the essentials necessary for the school year ahead. The giveaway will also feature free backpacks filled with supplies, ensuring families have one less hurdle as they prepare for the educational challenges that lay ahead.
