An Augusta man has died following a tragic accident on the evening of July 4 in Fayetteville, Georgia. William Grigsby, 35, was struck by a vehicle while walking on Stonewall Avenue West. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the incident at around 10:44 p.m. near the intersection with Heritage Park Way.

Grigsby was immediately rushed to Piedmont Fayette Hospital. Despite the efforts of the medical team, he passed away from his injuries on July 6. As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, the preliminary investigation suggests that Grigsby was walking east in the center eastbound lane when he was hit. Upon the arrival of the authorities at the scene, the driver, involved in the collision, had remained.
