The current heat wave is set to persist until Wednesday, with the heat index on that day inching even higher to around 106, under the scrutiny of a calm wind tilting southward during the afternoon.
A much-needed shift in weather patterns is forecasted towards the end of the week. A ridge of high pressure that has been responsible for the extreme temperatures will move further west, facilitating a drop in figures and ushering in a wave of wetter conditions.
