The Austin Police Department (APD) responded to the scene on Tuesday, July 9, at approximately 11:09 p.m., according to a press release from the City of Austin. Gordon Yang, identified as a white male born on December 11, 1978, was operating a motorcycle and sustained serious injuries that led to his untimely demise.
Despite the efforts to save his life, Yang was pronounced dead at a local hospital several days later, on July 12. This fatal accident marks Austin’s 42nd for the year and brings the city's traffic-related fatalities up to 44. It's reported that, by this date in 2023, the city had experienced 52 fatal crashes resulting in an equivalent number of fatalities.
