
The Austin Police Department is currently investigating a stabbing that occurred on the morning of July 24, resulting in the death of Javier Antonio Navarro Quesada. The incident, which unfolded in the 2100 block of Burton Drive, was the city's 36th homicide of the year, according to a recent announcement.
Official reports confirm that at 10:29 a.m., Austin Police officers received a Shoot/Stab Hotshot call. Up on arrival, alongside Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, they found Quesada with injuries indicative of a stab wound. Despite life-saving attempts, Quesada was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 23 years old.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Specialists were dispatched to investigate and process the crime scene. Witnesses provided key testimonies that led to the arrest of Alex Trevino, a 34-year-old suspect, in connection with Quesada's death. Police have disclosed that the fatal altercation stemmed from a vehicle theft scenario, according to a statement from the Austin Police Department.
Trevino is now in custody at the Travis County Jail, where he faces a murder charge.
