The city of Austin was struck with tragedy when police were alerted to a harrowing incident that unfolded in the early hours of Friday, July 12, 2024; police and emergency services responded to a stabbing at a residence within the 8200 block of Grayledge Drive, where they discovered the body of Edgar Yudiel Granados, according to a press release from the Austin Police Department.
The APD officers, coupled with the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, arrived at the scene after a call came in at 4:02 a.m. reporting the stabbing, the caller had also stated that a suspect had fled the premises, the deceased, a Hispanic male born on November 8, 1992, named Edgar Yudiel Granados, was pronounced dead at the scene which marked Austin's 33rd homicide for the year 2024.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists were promptly deployed to meticulously comb through the scene and conduct interviews with potential witnesses, as detailed by the official statement, although it has been noted that the investigation is still in its initial phase and is ongoing.
