According to KXAN, the emergency call reporting a person in need of medical assistance due to "penetrating trauma" came in at 5:39 p.m. Despite the fast response from police, fire, and EMS, one individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Found just blocks away from South First Street, at an apartment complex located in the 6700 block of Windrift Way, the victim's discovery has prompted a thorough investigation by local authorities, as reported by FOX 7 Austin. Interviews are ongoing with a person of interest and possible witnesses, as the APD Homicide Unit seeks to understand the circumstances surrounding the death. Sgt. Lee Knouse of APD's Public Information Office said, "they believe there is no danger to the public" as per KXAN.
