Baltimore authorities have arrested in connection with a shooting that unfolded last month in the Central District. Devonte Lassiter, a Baltimore resident with a history of violence, has been taken into custody for the attempted murder of a 16-year-old girl. The incident occurred on June 8, during what was described as a physical confrontation near the intersection of South Broadway at Thames Street, as reported by the Baltimore Police Department.
The Baltimore Police Department's warrant apprehension detectives located and arrested Lassiter at a residence in the 4300 block of Park Heights Avenue, the arrest was made without any complications. According to the police report, the teenage victim was shot amidst the dispute, Lassiter has since been transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. There he faces charges that include attempted first-degree murder.
Lassiter, who is no stranger to law enforcement, has been labeled as a repeat violent offender. The nature of his previous offenses has not been detailed in the police report. Following his arrest, Lassiter has been held at the booking facility awaiting further proceedings. His detainment is currently set without the option of bail.
