Residents of Baltimore are grappling with the aftermath of a shooting that transpired earlier this month. On July 10, Southern District patrol officers were summoned to a residence in the 1200 block of Sargeant Street following reports of shots being fired. Upon arrival, authorities found a 26-year-old man inside the home with gunshot wounds. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed by the police, was swiftly taken to a local hospital and is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
Investigators identified Christopher Holland, a 24-year-old Baltimore resident, as the suspect. It is believed by detectives that the act was domestic and that Holland broke into the home before shooting the victim multiple times. Holland evaded immediate capture, but on July 16, the Warrant Apprehension detectives located and arrested a suspect, transporting him to the Central Booking Intake Facility. Holland now faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, as reported by the Baltimore Police Department.
The investigation into this violent incident remains active, and the Southern District detectives continue to gather evidence. The department has urged anyone with information about this case to come forward and speak with them directly, or anonymously contact Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.
