On the evening of July 28, another body was struck by the cold touch of gunfire, stirring the ever-watching eyes of law enforcement to peer into the incident that unfolded in the Southwest District of Baltimore. A 48-year-old man, whose name we withhold out of respect for privacy and ongoing investigation, found himself in the grueling embrace of metal and flesh as a bullet entrenched itself within him, as reported by the Baltimore Police Department.
The call that came in at approximately 8:25 p.m. was answered not just by the steady hands of medical professionals, but upon their arrival at the hospital, they bore witness to the aftermath of the violence that had occurred on the 800 block of West Fayette Street.
