
Boston's Anti-Crime Unit officers made an arrest Monday evening after responding to a package theft report on Hanover Street. At approximately 7:58 PM, members of District A-1 (Downtown) took 36-year-old David Loughran of Stoneham into custody, facing charges related to breaking and entering.
After receiving a suspect description from Boston Police Operations, officers arrived at 224 Hanover Street to find an individual matching the given details. Loughran, recognized by the officers, attempted to flee when they approached, leading to a chase that ended near the Greenway and Surface Street.
Upon apprehension, Loughran was found in possession of an unopened package and a pair of pliers, which police identified as potential burglarious tools. A further search revealed multiple loose pills in the suspect's pocket, according to official police reports.
Already wanted for two active arrest warrants for charges including breaking and entering, receiving stolen property, and drug possession, Loughran now also faces charges for the daytime breaking and entering felony, larceny from a building, possession of burglarious tools, possession of Class E substances, and resisting arrest. He is slated for arraignment in a Boston Municipal Court.
