On Saturday afternoon in Boston's South End, a sweep by the D-4 Anti-Crime Unit led to the arrest of two young men, one a juvenile and another identified as Danielson Jeudy, 18, of Mattapan. Boston Police officers, while patrolling the vicinity of Massachusetts Avenue and Washington Street, noticed the pair among a group of three, recognizing an outstanding warrant for Jeudy, according to the official Boston Police Department news release.
The officers took action near Parmalee Street as they observed the juvenile discreetly managing something in his waistband, at this moment, Jeudy attempted an escape initiating a chase toward Northampton Street, despite this, a foot pursuit quickly followed allowing the police to catch up and apprehend him. The other suspect, in an effort to evade capture, sprinted off in the opposite course, and during this commotion, was seen hiding behind a car to dispose of an unknown item which was later identified as a Keltec P11 handgun; the serial number on the weapon had been deliberately altered, rendering it untraceable.
Upon arrest, the firearm, found to be loaded with one chambered round and five in its magazine, was seized by detectives. The unnamed 16-year-old has been charged with crimes including unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and defacement of the firearm's serial number. His arraignment is scheduled to take place at Boston Juvenile Court while Jeudy faces his charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and additional counts tied to prior allegations of theft, his arraignment is expected in Boston Municipal Court.
