
The Boston Police Department has issued a community alert seeking the public's help in locating an individual connected with a larceny incident in East Boston. According to their release, at about 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2024, a suspect deceived a victim at 11 Porter St., convincing them that the ATM they used had an error.
Following the ruse, the individual allegedly managed to abscond with the victim's ATM card and subsequently withdrew a reported $12,000. The search is on for the suspect at District A-7, though the card was stolen, according to detectives in a place where people rightfully expect their financial transactions to be secure.
Officials from the Boston Police Department are diligently reviewing the details of the case. They are appealing to anyone with information that could lead to the identification and capture of the suspect to contact the District A-7 Detectives at (617) 343-4234.
The department encourages community members who prefer to convey tips anonymously to either call the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or to send a text with the word 'TIP' to CRIME (27463).
