As the nation grapples with the aftershocks of the near-miss on former President Donald Trump's life, Texas Congressman Chip Roy has called for deep scrutiny and swift accountability. In a landscape threaded with charged political tensions, the incident has drawn a broad spectrum of reactions. According to FOX San Antonio, Roy commented yesterday that the full breadth of the event must undergo rigorous investigation and went as far as to demand the resignation of the head of the Secret Service.
While the dust is far from settling, details about the shooting continue to surface. Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, who was just 30 feet from Trump when the shots were fired, witnessed the events transpire with haunting clarity. Despite the unfolding chaos, and having heard the telltale "pop" of gunfire, Miller's rooted stance remained firm as he searched for the assailants, his cowboy logic reasoning that he was not the target. Miller told News 4 San Antonio, "The whole thing was probably six, seven seconds tops."
Moreover, reflecting on the incident's emotional toll and broader implications for the country, Miller stated, "I hope I never witnessed another assassination attempt, but it does give you pause and time to reflect from the direction of our country."
