A tragic incident unfolded last Friday when Amin Taheri, a 33-year-old Cambridge man, drowned while swimming in Crystal Lake, Manchester, New Hampshire. According to WHDH, a witness saw Taheri disappear in the water which led to immediate rescue efforts by bystanders.
Once found submerged, life-saving measures were attempted on Taheri, but to no avail. The man was later pronounced dead at Elliot Hospital, as detailed in a report by MassLive. The New Hampshire State Police have stated the death does not appear to be suspicious in nature, however, an investigation is still ongoing.
The incident reportedly occurred before 7:00 p.m. as stated by Boston 25 News. The response by witnesses at the scene was swift but, despite their efforts, they were unable to reverse the dire situation. The Marine Patrol has taken the lead on the investigation into this unfortunate event.
