
The Cambridge Police Department has initiated an investigation following reports of gunfire last night in a residential neighborhood. According to a CPD neighborhood alert, police officers rushed to the scene around 10:05 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of shots fired on the 100 block of Harvard St, near Greene-Rose Heritage Park.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered evidence of the shooting, locating shell casings scattered across several areas. The findings were not confined to a single locale, shell casings were also found near Dickinson Street, and an alert citizen pointed officers to additional casings on the 100 block of Washington Street. Despite the number of shots implied by the discovered casings, fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.
The CPD has cordoned off the affected areas as they conduct a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding this firearm discharge. The department has not provided any information on potential suspects or motives at this time.
