As the summer heat maintains its grip, schools in Central Texas and the Stevens Point area are preparing to open their doors to students for the 2024-25 academic year. While some are soaking in the remaining weeks of vacation, others are marking their calendars with start dates that span from the warm days of August to the cooler dawn of September.
Parents and students in Central Texas should note that back-to-school season kicks off as early as August 6, according to KXAN. The earliest districts to start include Buckholts ISD, Lometa ISD, and San Saba ISD. The start dates are scattered throughout the month, with the latest commencing classes on August 26.
On the flip side, in the Stevens Point area, there appears to be a consensus on start dates. As reported by Stevens Point Journal, all students in the Stevens Point Area Public School District, along with several others including Almond-Bancroft and Iola-Scandinavia, are set to return to the classroom on September 3. Pacelli Catholic Schools are the outliers, with a slightly earlier start date of August 20.
