Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit is currently investigating a fatal shooting that took place on the 8900 block of Cinnabay Drive, in the North Division area. According to a police statement, the incident occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m., Yesterday.  When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reports.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene by MEDIC. Officers have confirmed that all those involved in the incident have been identified, and they are not searching for any additional suspects, at this time.

Details regarding the circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation, with Crime Scene Search unit having processed the scene and collected physical evidence. Furthermore, CMPD’s Operations Command and Victim Services, along with the Charlotte Fire Department, also assisted at the scene.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has not disclosed any further information regarding a motive or the relationship between the parties involved. The department is expected to release more details as the investigation progresses.
